Hi, Dad here - this is so much fun following you. I especially liked the Old to Lyon post. It reminded me of all those hours over behind the School learning to ride! He did it!
Yuk! But those hands sure play a mean guitar! I must say, I missed checking the blog a few days and catching up was almost too much wonderfulness for one sitting. Lyon, your descriptions of the coastline sights were beautiful and vivid- I could practically smell the sea and hear the birds- I'm glad you are pulling your weight with the blogging! and Alice, your posts are detailed and funny and touching and as the girls at my school say AWWWWWWWWW! Ode to Lyon got to me. (I wrote an Ode to Bill once at your age) It was so sweet and most of all, reassuring for your fan club to know you are looking out for each other and moving this relationship along (ha, ha) to some kind of quite amazing level! As for fitness, a lot of it must be in the attitude. He just goes for it and "keeps his focus, steady as she goes." You should see him play golf! he is pretty unflappable. Tell those truckers to behave themselves and stay safe! Congrats on the mileage AND on the $$$!
How does a person get such dirty hands riding a bike? Are you staying in another hike and bike camp tonight? I check for new posts too often. Keep pedaling and keep safe. Dinner with Buttrey tonight and he admitted he sent you $100. He's a sucker for immigrant issues. I think you must have already counted it.
"Coasting" started the first day I thought Lyon and I might be able to pull off a cycling trip down the West Coast.
We completed the trip in October 2010, successfully raising a dollar for each mile we pedaled for Posada Esperanza, a shelter for immigrant women and children in Austin, my home city.
Man, they are dirty aren't they? I think I'll go use the sink.
